Create Theatre Drama Workshop

A drama workshop for teenagers, working with a theatre director to devise an original performance piece from scratch. Students explore concepts to build a synopsis, write scripts and bring them to life through improvisation and characterisation, with opportunities to direct scenes and explore multi-media, costume, prop, set and lighting design.

Families are invited to a showcase performance at the end, where students present the piece they have created.

What the workshop involves:

• Fun physical warm-ups
• Drama games
• Drama activities in voice, movement, improvisation, storytelling, play building and scene work
• Music and singing activities
• Theatre design activities
• Working with professional theatre makers, directors and designers
• Small group work
• Making new friends

No previous drama or performance experience is required.
