School holidays: papercraft automata

Make your own piece of art with a moving part in this hands-on school holiday workshop.

This is an introductory session in crafting your first kinetic papercraft – a mechanical sculpture or toy that moves, usually powered by gears, levers and other parts.

In this fun STEM activity, you'll build an automaton, a machine that moves. Parts appear and disappear and move around all using paper.

Materials, tools and know-how provided.

• Suitable for children aged 8-12 years.
• Parents or guardians must stay for the duration of the activity.
• Bookings essential.
